Purple Bike Kid

Sometimes I just wish we could go back
Back to the days when we were young
Care free with thoughts of toys and summer vacations
When the sunshine a bike and the crisp New Jersey air is all I needed
I could ride that purple Huffy bike for hours
With my walk man and
two newdouble aa batteries
And fresh mix tape recorded from favorite radio stations power 99 FM and q102
While I ride down Tennessee Trail as fast as I can with the wind blowing threw my shirt
While ride as fast as I can to our local park
It was a sweet spot on my sweet ride
That made me feel like a true Jersey bad ass
I would roll out all day like I was an extra in the ludacris video
I was the true definition
Browns Mills kid
A little bit of a tomboy
Mixed with a little bit of a Huxtable
I was possessed by the need to be free
Compelled by the freedom of the journey
And then restrained by fears or worries of the future
I rolled my bright future all the way pasta Zenus with each forceful push my strong bike peddles
I push faster and faster and faster on my bike pedals that I Coast I did every Sunray and I'm so up every bit of wind
It Empower me
I never took for granted the advances of how being free can make you powerful
Invincible even
With each powerful push of my legs towards the front of my bike I gained a sense of Delegation over the road
I was the ultimate master
And illustrator of my own real life comic
I drew power from the perspective of being the narrator of my own story
I was able to control my destiny
And follow the golden stripes road all the way to my neighborhood park
On days that ot was empty I felt like the queen of my town
I would roam freely in the tennis courts
And swing on the monkey bars as if I were born in the Congo as an ape
I would play in the beach sand on the playground
Ruffling my tiny fingers threw the sand building sand castles
A throwing dirt
Then when I was all tired out from a days play I would hop on my purple bike like
It was horse and gallop to the fire station and get a 75 cent soda from the vending machine
Those were the days
I miss those moments
Even though I miss those moments
Back in the day
I can honestly say I dont want to go back
All the days were not like those
That's what made those moments so special
That was the time when my purple was in it's full glory
I miss you purple bike
Where ever you are
You gave me freedom
And I will cherish that for years to come
