and we are talking stranger things
yo-yos now i just want to put out a
quick splaylers
for those of you who did not watch
stranger things last season
yet or you have not watched stranger
things at all
i want you to know that there will be
some spoilers i'm going through this
mini single series
series girls series girls and boys
that is going to explore some facts
about stranger things
and not just facts about stranger things
that are odd and curious and wonderful
but how some of these stranger things
facts are
so interesting and so irresistibly
relatable
sometimes to us
that can make us feel so close to the
characters on this show
so
we are going to
get a chance
to see the world of stranger things in a
whole
new
light and who wouldn't want to see that

so for those who don't know stranger
things is a
dope american science fiction
horror scary drama television series and
this series is created by the duffer
brothers which has created timeless
wonderful
dramas so the craziest thing stranger
thing friends the show wasn't even going
to be called that at first it was
actually going to be based on a real
tone and i'm probably going to be
pronouncing this wrong called manchuk
and this town had some crazy
psychological experiments going on
and it is an american-based town but
how would it be
if it was called that instead of
stranger things i don't know another
crazy thing that you might not know is
the upside down wasn't even gonna be the
upside down
it was originally gonna be called
another which is based on the sound
effects of not sound effect but sounding
like the netherlands which has nothing
to do with the european
place but

still
what if we never had the upside down but
instead another this show converted me
into a science fiction fan and showed me
that i really love science fiction did
we just become best friends yeah when i
started watching stranger things
right off the back like
initially i didn't understand it
because i wasn't at the time when i
first started watching it when the first
season actually just came out i really
wasn't into sci-fi
it wasn't my jam i wasn't really into
watching scary movies
and i kind of felt like it was just
something
that i was watching that was kind of
like
i just didn't understand it
but this year when i decided to watch
stranger things i was able to really
feel it and connect with the characters
of course i'm pretty sure there's many
people who are like oh man 11 is my jam
and
i 100
would be with those people
because 11
is a character who is definitely
uh someone i i am
able to relate to
because
i feel that strange thing i feel
like someone who like when you're a mom
you feel like you're sent to
protect your kids beyond all costs and
sometimes you make sacrifices and do
things and try to stop things from
happening and it causes another thing to
happen
that you didn't even know was gonna
happen
and that's one of the reasons why i was
able to relate to lily bobby brown's
character 11.
i mean
it's dope and i love if you've if you've
been watching like i said spoilers how
even and i and i always say this all the
time if you love what you have you have
everything you need i love how even
though
our mother
wasn't able to give her that motherly
love even though she didn't have a real
father figure she was still able to
somehow
get that
in the movie get a father figure get a
brother figure get another brother
figure and get
a mother figure i'm glad that james hop
jane hopper was able to beat that
and step up because she could have just
this strange kid is not
gonna come with me you know
i mean i'm i'm glad about all the things
i'm glad about
how well it shows that even if you're an
outsider you can make your own
club based upon your own favorite tv
show
you know it it it brings me back to the
days when i was a kid and i was
pretending to be tlc and we were
fighting over who was going to be chilly
or t-box or left eye and
you know it's it's that thing
that people forget
you know
being able to relate
through having going through something
and
that's what i love about that show and
speaking of hellfire club i want to get
to one of my first facts
so
the hellfire club
is
honestly
referenced a few times in season four if
you've watched
the new season because before it wasn't
even like not a thing
but now in season four it is a big deal
and
i learned
based upon
doing research
that the hellfire club is a reference to
probably more than likely
the x-men comments and it is
something that is notably made up of
guys
who take jean grey
and try to make her powers a weapon
and some would say
that
that's kind of like what happens to 11
during stranger things
um
i kind of feel like
that's what it is
um
but
i kind of don't
i feel like 11 had a bigger purpose
and even
her papa
the one she calls papa
i feel like he knew she had a bigger
purpose and he was trying to tame her
manager so he could feel like he's a
part of that purpose
um and i feel like that happens in real
life you know you have people who see
you have a bigger purpose
you have something that you need to do
and they try to tame you and control you
because they want to be a part of that
purpose so they can always say well
they had a hand
in your blessing
so that's the first thing we were
talking about today which is the
hellfire
we talked about that put it on the
checklist
next topic
so
if you guys don't know how important
referencing
80s comic books and
movies and tv shows is to
the plot of stranger things you're about
to know this okay
if you are an x-men fan which i am i'm a
big storm fan i love storm i'm not gonna
sit here and say i don't love the rest
of x-men but storm is my jam
anyway if you
have
had a chance to see the first episode of
x-men
i mean the first episode of
of course stranger things then you know
that they reference
x-men's
issue 134.
remember when they were riding on the
bikes
destiny will have a reference
to the 1963
comic book after winning a bike race
that issue
follows x-men and goes up against the
front

yeah boy
yeah boy your boy kobe bryant has
something to do with stranger things
who the late great legend how does he
have anything to do with stranger things
well
according
to buzzfeed article they say that lucas
is number eight jersey that you see in
season four when he has that high top
that dope eye top which i'm like well
you killing them lying [ __ ] you was
killing it but anyway
um
in that episode
or in in the show when you see he has
the number eight jersey you also
think you also understand that
caleb mclaughlin is a huge a huge kobe
bryant fan and so he decided he wanted
to wear the number eight jersey to pay a
tribute to the late great fallen
king
mr kobe bryant
and i just want to say real quick rest
in peace because we know we talked about
kobe bryant on the point 2.2 walls
talking podcast and his daughter passing
away and i feel so bad about that and i
pray to god that his family is just
i pray that they're they're able to get
some type of peace in this time um
but i'm thankful that we still have
people who are paying tribute to the
late great king
so
that is number three we are going to get
into number four y'all
so in number four we want to get into
the mullet of it all we want to talk
about if you have a taste for the mullet
because in number four we get into mike
rocking his
haircuts that he decided to just rock
out of the blue in season four which is
his mother now a lot of people think it
is
it's just a nod to eddie munson okay
because he looks up to him
he rocks a long haircut and he's like
hey man you know we're part of the dnd
club and we're campaigning and we're
friends so we're going to rock this same
mullet together we're going to watch
some long blocks together and i'll feel
you you know what i'm saying back in the
day when i looked up to leah i rock the
swoop i still rock the swoop
when
i
can
so i feel you you know and number four i
do
so number five is something that i
really want to get into because when i
watched and when i read this buzzfeed
article the first thing i talked about
thought about was like
oh this is though information that i
didn't know
but i rewatched the episodes of stranger
things the first episode and when
your boy got missing will
his mother joyce made a reference to the
fact that a lot of people
he's a sensitive kid
see him insensitive and they see him as
gay or homosexual she said it i remember
when she was looking for will when she
went to the sheriff's station and she
was talking about how his personality is
well
a lot of people might have not
referenced that but i know that on
reddit a lot of people have been talking
about fan theories and one thing that
they have been saying
is that
there was a project that will had to do
for school which was based on alan
turing which he was a code breaker
during the world war
ii
okay now the reason why this is such a
big easter egg is because alan turing
was persecuted for being gay which is a
great notable factor because
a lot of fan theories say that he may be
gay now
i'm gonna sit here and tell you that
the day that they say he comes out would
be dope but if you've seen the last two
episodes
of season four
you know that will has something he
needs to tell mike he needs to tell
everyone
and he seemingly
is hinting to
coming out or wanting to come out or
even to be in love with my but this is a
fan theory of mountain
this is a fan theory of my own
you know it might be talked about in a
reddit verse or in the phantom verse
but hey
you know
you never know until next season
so we're in number six and
we need to really think about how
essential the style is
in
side of stranger things how 80s it is
how
much how much it is to the
to the
starting of the hip hop culture and the
starting of just that casual
culture you know 70s 80s
and so
one of the iconic moments that a lot of
people have been talking about is the
fact that
eleventh project
with harper
is done in a reebok box
and people say this is a cute way
to just you know give a little nod to
her new stepmom her new mom figure who
always wears reeboks
we rock back reebok back she always does
that so i mean i think it's cute i think
it's
sugar sweets honey snacks
so we're gonna talk about number seven
number seven
is crazy because i literally watched a
lot of movies from the 80s and i don't
remember anything mentioning
any of this
but then again i wasn't really looking
for this to be mentioned so
i'm pretty sure this is the thing so
basically
when steve and robin are driving this
isn't season four if you've seen season
four
and
there is a mention
of
vicky returning a copy of fast times
enrich my high pause at 53 minutes and
five seconds so a lot of people like
what's going on 53 minutes and five
seconds well

according to
this my research my research it says
that at 53 minutes and five seconds
there is a stamp when linda removes her
bikini top during a dream sequence
so
and this is this is that i remember this
because it there i remember them driving
in the car and remember saying nobody
pauses the movie at this particular
point unless they're into girls and and
you know i mean he just knew it he just
he was into it he knew that that was the
thing
so that's a little fun little
stirring
for you to eat
so
number eight
number eight
we're talking about jonathan's room
and this is the new room he has in
california not the room that he had in
seasons one through three this is after
they moved
they went back back they went to
kelly kelly kelly kelly yeah
and so
there was a poster
for
sam
rammy the evil dead
on the wall
and the evil dead was the first release
in 1981 which i didn't know i don't know
nothing about them i'm not going to
represent them because i didn't know but

but
with the second film
it came out in a series in 1987
which is kind of crazy
because i mean everything's just so 80s
in this movie
like you don't slip up nothing in this
room just everything is so easy and
remember when i told you remember when i
told you earlier that et was gonna make
an appearance girlfriends blame friends
friends friends fans and stranger things
well e.t didn't make an appearance
well at least his name did
so when dustin was calling steve from
the phone booth and the crazy thing
about this is the crazy thing about this
is i didn't even notice this
until
i read this first like i read this first
and then i had to look and be like oh
yeah
that's really happening but anyway
so
someone you don't know what you don't
know who
wrote
wrote e.t phone home
when he was making a phone call in the
phone book you could see that
somewhere
in the clip
um
and it references to steven spielberg's
e.t extra extraterrestrial which came in
in
1982
um spielberg's films have been a big
huge phenomenal influence on stranger
things as well
and i feel like
it just it wouldn't be right
if you had an
extraterrestrial being
in a tv series
um that became very popular and you
didn't reference
the fact that number one it's an 80
series so it has to reference
e.t you know it's referencing everything
else
why not reference et phone home

my bad i'm bad i'm ashamed of that but
anyway
in number 10 we're going to get back
into some dungeons and dragons and han
solo and what they got to do with
stranger things so number 10 while they
were playing dungeons and dragons dustin
tells
eddie
never tell me the odds
and this is a reference to han solo
telling
them never tell me the odds in the
empire strikes back which came out in
1980s now which
the crazy thing about this is
i read about this and i was researching
this
like a month two months ago i was
reading about this and
i really didn't
see that part of the movie i was like
when did that ever happen and so
just so happened we've been on a binge
star wars
thing because we got a disney plus
membership and i've seen him saying i
was like oh my god that's that line
that's the line
never tell me the odds when they were on
the spaceship and everything anyway
anyway i was excited and i'm glad but
yeah you gotta see that so if you
haven't seen it you need to see star
wars ain't need to see that part anyway
that part
so my friends we are at number 11

and i might just throw in a bonus for
you oh
so of course we have to be at number 11
because you know i love 11 that's my
girl that's my jam
but we're not talking about 11 in 11. in
fact we're talking about another female
and that is max mayfield so
what does max mayfield have to do
with
your girl
from
friends
courtney cox what does she have to do
with that at all is that her daughter is
that her friend is it her homie is it
her lover is she in stranger things is
courtney cox and stranger things yeah
she isn't drinking things she actually
is with max mayfield well not really
technically she is being referenced so
basically when max rinfield is
recounting the night with chrissy
you know
dying it to dustin
you see that max is watching an episode
of the misfits
of science starring courtney cox okay
and i'm not gonna i'm not gonna lie to
you i got out of my seat i went out of
my seat at that stats is that my girl
from france is that her but anyway
so i was super excited and so you see
courtney cox in this one scene frozen
and this series weird in 1985 and only
lasted one season but the reason why
this is so significant
is because
courtney cox played a telekinetic
teenager just like
11 at number 11.
i guess i did tie it
i guess back to the level of courtney
cox and the [ __ ] fits just
fit on it
anyway yes
that is my final take for today because
i only want to do 11 facts
but
i just want to let you guys know
